Alkali halogen scintillator luminescence kinetics in excitation by electron subnanosecond pulses

Description
Kinetics of scintillator luminescence under excitation by electron subnanosecond pulses is studied. Studied CsI, CsI-Tl, KI, KI-Tl, NaI-Tl monocrystals were irradiated by single pulses of high-current electron accelerator (energy of 450 keV, pulse length at half-height 50 ps, current density of a sample 100 A/cm2). Time resolution under experimental conditions is 10 ps. It is shown that in kinetics of increase of alkali-halogen scintillator luminescence in excitation by ∼ 50ps electron pulses recombination processes both with participation of free charge carriers and intermediate charge carrier trapping are manifested
