Interaction of YCO2, YCO3, YCO5 intermetallic compounds and their hydride phases with hydrogen in the presence of nitrogen

Description
The interaction of YCon intermetallic compounds and their hydride phases with nitrogen-oxygen mixture of 1:3 composition is studied under 0.25-25 MPa pressure at 293 and 723 K temperatures. It is shown that at 293 K YCo2 and YCo3 intermetallic compounds from β-hydrides, YCo5-α-hydride phases which have solved insignificant quantities of nitrogen in the surface layers in the form of yttrium nitride. Heterophase mixture of yttrium nitride and cobalt metal are the final products of reaction at 723 K
