EUR: key policies and top-tiers requirements of the European utilities
Description
The ''nuclear'' utilities within the European Union have decided 4 years ago to draft common requirements for the next generation of light water reactors. Since then, generic requirements for the nuclear island have been published, generic requirements are well under way for the conventional island, and specific requirements are scheduled for EPR, EPP, and a BWR yet to be chosen. Others may follow. After a presentation of the EUR organization, of its objectives and of the contents of the Requirements, the report will summarize the key policies and the top-tier requirements for the nuclear island. It will describe the relations of the EUR with the rest of the world (utilities, vendors, authorities), and identify the work which remains to be done. (authors)
