Behaviour of airborne decay products of radon-222 in a basement laboratory

  • 1. Univ. of Leeds, Eng.

Description

Measurements were made of polonium-218, lead-214, and bismuth-214 in a basement laboratory under conditions of forced ventilation and no ventilation. Even though the measurements do not provide exact knowledge of the concentrations of the decay products of radon-222 in the laboratory, they lead to several interesting observations on the deposition of radioactive aerosols on surfaces.
