Report on the radiation situation in the Slovak Republic in 2014

  • 1. Slovak Health University, Bratislava (Slovakia)
  • 2. Slovak Hydrometeorological Institute, Bratislava (Slovakia)

Description

The report summarizes results of systematic environmental radioactivity monitoring across Slovakia. The first part describes the structure and special tasks of the Slovak Radiation Monitoring Network and presents data(radionuclide concentrations and ionizing radiation dose rates) collected by the radiation monitoring teams. The second part of the report contains radiological data for effluents from Slovak nuclear power plants and data of radioactivity in their vicinity. No increase in radiation was observed near the nuclear power plants. Existing environmental background differences are due to different geological and topographic conditions. (orig.)
