Clinical significance of determination of serum MTL, GAS levels in patients with chronic hepatitis C

Description
Objective: To explore the changes of serum motilin (MTL) and gastrin (GAS) levels in patients with chronic hepatitis C. Methods: Serum MTL, GAS levels were detected with RIA in 36 patients with chronic hepatitis C and 35 controls. Results: The levels of serum MTL, GAS were significantly higher in the patients than those in controls (P<0.01), serum MTL, GAS levels were mureally positive eorrelated (r=0.8117, P<0.01). Conclusion: Detection of serum MTL, GAS levels might be of diagnostic and prog- nostie values in patients with chrordc hepatitis C. (authors)
