Study on vapor-liquid equilibrium of hydriodic acid for thermochemical hydrogen production is process

  • 1. Japan Atomic Energy Agency, Oarai, Ibaraki (Japan)

Description

Vapor-liquid equilibrium of hydriodic acid (HI-H2O) was measured for the thermochemical Iodine-Sulfur process for large-scale hydrogen production from water. The measurement was carried using an equilibrium still made of corrosion resistant metal. Isobaric equilibrium data on the vapor composition and the boiling point was obtained of hydriodic acid in the HI concentration range of 0-0.15 mol/mol and pressure of up to 0.58 MPa. (author)
