An explanation of the high temperature creep of yttria tetragonal zirconia nanocrystals

Description

Mechanical and TEM microstructural results from nanometric fully-dense yttria tetragonal zirconia polycrystals (YTZP)--pure and impure samples--crept at 1150-1200 deg. C in compression are interpreted in terms of recently reported models involving yttrium segregation at grain boundaries. By this theoretical approach, numerical estimations of the yttria segregation are made
