Downsizing of the PHT purification filter cartridge in Wolsong Unit 1

Description
To protect workers and plant equipment from radiation exposure, Wolsong Unit 1 has changed the PHT purification filter cartridge from a rating of 6.0 μm absolute (abs.) to 0.45 μm abs. in stages. The plant evaluated the effect of the adopted fine filter cartridge in 2006. It was found that use of fine mesh cartridge is effective to reduce the effect of radioactive corrosion products. (author)
