Application of slot method in determining diffusion coefficients in molten metals and in melts

Description
The application is analyzed of the slot method to the determination of diffusion coefficients in molten metals and melts. The value of the diffusion coefficient is calculated from the counting ratemeter response by computer. The experimental apparatus for this case of application of the slot method is described. The method was tested by determination of the diffusion coefficients of 110Ag in molten aluminium. The values of diffusion coefficients determined by the slot method and by the section method are in very good agreement. (aUthor)
