Nuclear density measurements with elastic alpha-particle scattering

Description
Preliminary angular distributions for elastic alpha scattering off 16O, 40Ca, 48Ca, 90Zr, and 208Pb targets at an incident energy of 79 MeV are presented. The data has been tailored to the method of analysis to insure that chi2 will be a sensitive function of the nuclear density. (3 figures) (U.S.)
