Non-training uses of simulators

  • 1. Electric Power Research Inst., Palo Alto, CA (USA). Nuclear Power Div.

Description

The use of simulators for plant operator training is well established, especially in the nuclear power industry. The use of training simulators for non-training purposes is becoming more extensive and is showing that simulators can be useful and cost effective tools in performing a variety of applications and evaluations. This paper discusses historical and evolving uses of training simulators for research and development (R and D) projects other than power plant operator training
