Imaging of inflammatory lesions using granulocytes labelled in vivo with 99mTc-anti-CEA antibodies
Description
In 34 patients, in vivo labelled granulocytes were used for detection and localisation of inflammatory lesions. Cell labelling was done with a 99mTc-radiopertechnetate-labelled, murine monoclonal CEA (BW 250/183) antibody. Abscesses and other inflammatory lesions were detected already within two to six hours, two lesions safely only after 28 hours, but image quality in every case was excellent. The method is suitable also for urgent diagnostic imaging, as the antibody can be stored in lyphilized form and at any time be labelled with 99mTc-radiopertechnate in the nuclear medicine department, so that cell isolation is not necessary. Abstract (German)
Wir fuehrten bei 34 Patienten die Suche nach entzuendlichen Herden mit in vivo markierten Granulozyten durch. Zur Zellmarkierung verwendeten wir einen mit 99mTc-Pertechnetat markierten murinen monoklonalen Antikoerper gegen CEA (BW 250/183). Abszesse und andere entzuendliche Prozesse wurden meist schon zwischen 2 und 6 Stunden, zwei erst sicher nach 28 Stunden mit exzellenter Bildqualitaet dargestellt. Da der Antikoerper in lyophilisierter Form auf Vorrat gehalten und jederzeit in jeder nuklearmedizinischen Abteilung mit 99mTc-Pertechnetat markiert werden kann, eine Zellisolierung nicht notwendig ist, erscheint die Methode auch zur Akutdiagnostik geeignet.
