Electrical resistivity and magnetic ordering in c.p.h. ruthenium-iron solid solutions

  • 1. Imperial Coll. of Science and Technology, London (UK). Dept. of Physics

Description

Electrical resistivity measurements have been made at low temperatures on solid solutions of up to 70% Fe in Ru. The temperature dependence at low temperatures is dominated by spin fluctuation effects and, following the analysis made of Pd-Ni, Rh-Co and Rh-Fe alloys, concentration corresponding with the onset of some type of magnetic ordering has been located; this occurs at 50+-2% Fe. The magnetic susceptibility behaviour suggests that the ordering is of itinerant antiferromagnet character. (Auth.)
