Investigation of reactions of stopped π--meson capture by light nuclei in photoemulsion with two-prong events production

Description
The reactions of stopped π--meson capture by light (C, N, O) nuclei in photoemulsions, involving production of two charged particles or two charged particles plus one neutron, were studied. The most probable channels are found to be π-12C→7Li4Hen (1) and π-14N→7Be6Hen (2). Energy spectra and angular correlations of secondary particles for reactions (1) and (2) are in qualitative agreement with the estimates that the π--capture by 12C and 14N nuclei in these reactions occurs on nucleon clusters (5Li) and (8Be) in the case of carbon, and (7Li) and (8B) in the case of nitrogen
