Synthesis and investigation of physicochemical properties of salts with BΛ1Λ0HΛ1Λ0CH- anion

Description
The salts with B10H10CH- anions and cations of alkali metals as well as some single-charged organic cations ((CH3)4N+, (C2H5)4N+, (C6H5)4P+)) synthesized. IR, UV spectroscopic investigation of obtained compounds is carried out, their thermal behaviour at heating in the air up to 1000 deg C is studied. It is shown that the presence of carbon atom in B10H10CH- lowers anion symmetry and its thermal stability as compared with B11H112-. Solubility of salts in water at 25 deg C substantially depends on the nature of cation and increases with its dimension decrease in the Cs+-Li+ and (C6H5)4P-(CH3)4N+ series. Alkali metal salts form hydrates and possess much higher solubility
