Spin-lattice relaxation rate studies in CeAl3 at low temperatures

  • 1. Lab. fuer Festkoerperphysik, ETH-Hoenggerberg, Zuerich (Switzerland)

Description

We have measured the spin-lattice relaxation rate (1/T1) of the 1/2 ↔ −1/2 transition of the ²⁷Al nuclear Zeeman-levels in CeAl3 at a frequency of 2.095 MHz and temperatures between 0.1 K and 2 K. Below 2 K the temperature dependence of 1/T1 follows a Korringa law with (T1T)⁻¹ = 16.6 (Ksec)⁻¹. We found no evidence of a phase transition to a magnetically ordered state in the temperature region of this experiment. (orig.)
