Description

Particle-γ and particle-K X-ray coincidence methods have been used to identify the residual nuclei in the asymmetrical heavy-ion reactions 14N+169Tm and 14N+174Yb. The usefulness of this technique, at the intermediate bombarding energy of 30 MeV/n, is proved. The results are compared with the incomplete fusion reaction model. The difference observed between the experimental and theoretical charge distributions are tentatively attributed to the sequential decay of the projectile-like fragments not taken into account by the model.
