YBa2Cu3Ox thin films on off-axis substrates

Description
YBa2Cu3Ox(YBCO) thin films were in-situ prepared on MgO(001) substrates with vicinal angles toward [100]MgO. [001]YBCO tilted from substrate surface normal only toward [001]MgO. With increasing the vicinal angles, the angle between [001]YBCO and [001]MgO and the rocking curve width were increased. Tc was independent of the current direction and the vicinal angle. On the other hand, Jc normal to V-Direction (the direction normal to [010]MgO and parallel to substrate surface) was higher than parallel to one using electrical current parallel to the film surface.
