Safety evaluation criteria for the processing of wastes from the final stage of the nuclear fuel cycle
- 1. Vsesoyuznyj Nauchno-Issledovatel'skij Inst. Khimicheskoj Tekhnologii, Moscow (USSR)
Description
The paper presents the main approaches to the selection of safety evaluation criteria for the processing of wastes from the nuclear fuel cycle. On the assumption that safety criteria should limit exposure to radiation and predict radiation levels, the author proposes to use calculated values of the maximum permissible releases into the atmosphere and into water systems. Initial data are determined which could be used to calculate these values in different regions of the Soviet Union. (author). 2 refs, 2 tabs
