Effect of dynamic oscillative processes on the deformation of metals

  • 1. Kramatorskij Nauchno-Issledovatel'skij i Proektno-Tekhnologicheskij Inst. Mashinostroeniya (USSR)

Description

The process is considered of metal deformation for the cases when dynamic normal or tangential stresses are involved. With due regard for cracking mechanics problem solutions it is shown that the frequencies exist at which metals absorb the vibrations near the cracks or other structural defects most vigorously. Formulas are presented for extremum frequencies which reduce most intensively the deformation forces. For metals these frequencies are normally located in the region of ultrasonic vibrations
