Electronic structure of fullerene nanotubes MC20 doped by elements of first transition period M = Sc, Ti, ... Zn

Description

Electronic structure of nanotubes MC20 alloyed with 3d-metals, i.e. Sc, Ti, V, ..., Zn, has been studied using previously suggested variant of the method of linearized added plane waves for quasiodiomeric systems. It is shown that metal introduction into carbon nanowires is accompanied by an essential increase in their electric conductivity
