Schwinger mapping and the interacting boson model
Description
A compact, finite boson mapping of particle-hole and particle-particle operators is given for the SO(8) model of Genocchio, which can be related to the interacting boson model (IBM) on a microscopic level. This is achieved by introducing a quasispin as a new intrinsic degree of freedom of the angular momentum L=0,2 bosons of the IBM. The method is an unprecedented generalization of the Schwinger mapping of SU(2). (orig.)
