Indications for tri-phase bone scintigraphy

Description
Conventional static skeletal scintigraphy is a widely accepted method for the evaluation of bone pathology. The indications for the tri-phase method of examination are less well defined. Reviewing the literature on tri-phase bone scintigraphy, data on perfusion patterns, sensitivity and specificity were collected. From these data indications for tri-phase bone scintigraphy were derived and defined. In addition, a scheme as an aid to differential diagnosis of the various patterns was set up.
