  • 1. AN SSSR, Moscow. Inst. Obshchej i Neorganicheskoj Khimii

Description

Black polycrystals Nd2CuO4 are obtained by evaporation of a mixture between nitrates of copper(2) and neodymium, followed by annealing at 960+-10 deg C. The compound is tetragonal of the K2NiF4 type (space group J 4/mmm, with a = 3.948, c = 12.15 A, rhosub(pycnom) 7.22 g/cm3). The infrared spectrum of Nd2CuO4 shows well resolved intensive absorption bands with maxima at 505, 350, and 315 cm-1, and weak bands with frequences of 278, 250, 225, 215 cm-1. The electrical properties of Nd2CuO4 are studied
