Description

A new compound - anhydrous dihydroorthophosphate V(H2PO4)3 - is prepared when studying the interaction of phosphoric acid with metallic vanadium in the temperature interval from 333 to 393 K. Its identification is carried out by means of thin-layer chromatography, chemical, X-ray phase analyses, vibrational spectroscopy. Identification of powder pattern is carried out and the parameters of the V(H2PO4)3 unit cell are determined. The compound given is shown to be isomorphous to Sc(H2PO4)3. Pyrolytic decomposition of vanadium dihydroorthophosphate in the air is studied by the method of complex thermal analysis. H2VP3O10 dihydrotriphosphate is established to be one of the intermediate product of its thermodecomposition
