Results of an evaluation of control room operation with CRT-based information display, and the resulting requirements for fully computerized control rooms in nuclear power plant

Description

Process computer-assisted information display in nuclear power plant control rooms is not new, even the very first nuclear power plant built in the Federal Republic of Germany have been equipped with process computers. The new computer systems with their significantly better capacities of information visualization and process display currently are used in addition to 'conventional' process control equipment in control rooms. The paper first outlines the tasks attributed to the new systems, and the requirements being defined from practical experience so far. These have been incorporated into the design of the screen-based process control equipment of the 1300 MW PWR Konvoi series, which is explained together with recommendations for improvement emerging from the results obtained with the new expert systems. Abstract (German)

Der Einsatz von prozessrechnergestuetzten Informationsdarstellungen in Kernkraftwerken ist nicht neu. Bereits die ersten Kernkraftwerke die in der Bundesrepublik Deutschland errichtet wurden waren mit Prozessrechnern ausgeruestet. Die neuen Informationssysteme werden zur Zeit als additive Systeme zur konventionellen Wartentechnik betrieben. Es wird zunaechst ueber die an diese neuen Systeme gestellten Aufgaben und Anforderungen berichtet. In einem weiteren Abschnitt wird ein Ueberblick ueber den Aufbau der in den 1300 MW/DWR-Konvoianlagen ausgefuehrten Systeme gegeben. Der Kernpunkt befasst sich mit den Einsatzerfahrungen die in den v.g. Anlagen gesammelt wurden. Die aus diesen Einsatzerfahrungen abzuleitenden Empfehlungen fuer die Gestaltung zukuenftiger Systeme, sind das besondere Anliegen dieses Beitrages. (orig./GL)
