Temperature relaxation and adiabatic acceleration at magnetized electron flux
Creators

Description
In the absence of intrabeam scattering the electron acceleration in electron gun results in a decrease of the longitudinal temperature. At the same time the transverse temperature does not change. If the accompanying magnetic field is sufficiently strong the transverse movement of electrons is magnetized and their effective temperature is defined by the longitudinal temperature. An experimental study of the longitudinal temperature relaxation in electron beam is presented, and opportunities of the adiabatic acceleration are examined for supercooled electron beam preparation.
