Regeneration of rice shoot on salt-stressed medium by irradiation callus culture

Creators

Description

Young spikelets rice callus were exposed to 0, 20, and 40 Gy of gamma-rays. Shoot regeneration were induced on normal differentiation medium and on 37.5% sea water differentiation medium. The frequencies of shoot regeneration were 40% on normal medium and 33.3% on seawater medium. A dose of 20 Gy was a stimulation dose, shoot regenaration was rice up to 70% on normal medium and 55.3 % on seawater medium. A dose of 40 Gy induced decreasing the average number of shoot regeneration for every callus, from 2.1 on dose of 0 Gy became 1.2 on dose of 40 Gy. (author). 9 refs, 2 tabs
