Problems of nuclear environmental protection in Hungary
Description
The harmful environmental effects of fossil-fueled and nuclear power plants are compared. The problems of radioactive waste management and disposal are pointed out. The wide-range research in the frame of a project coordinated by the Ministry of Heavy Industry is shown. New methods and instruments are being developed for the measurement of the radioactivity of air, water and soil. The preoperational status is also surveyed in the circumference of the Paks Nuclear Power Plant. (R.J.)
