Description
The authors describe graphite first walls installed within the JT-60 vacuum vessel to prepare the in-vessel hardware for high-power and long-pulse additional heating experiment. The graphite first walls cover about 45 % of the total inner surface area of the JHT-60 vacuum vessel. Two kinds of isotropic graphites were selected for the first wall materials for their superior outgassing characteristics, high thermal shock resistance and very low ash content
