Analysis requirements for evaluating excavation response in hard rock
Description
An overview of analysis requirements for an Excavation Response Experiment is presented as it addresses the concerns of a nuclear waste repository program. The tools, procedures and requirements to perform such analyses are examined, and the implications of these efforts are noted. The analytical effort is subdivided into specific categories and examples of modelling concerns for each category are presented. Also, the various computer codes available for mechanical analyses are reviewed, together with the input requirements, and constitutive capabilities
