Siting of light-water reactor power plants in the Federal Republic of Germany

Description

The nuclear power plant site requirements formulated for environment protection in Germany allow nuclear power plants to be built at any site provided these requirements are duly taken into account in preparing and monitoring the site and in the design of the proposed power plant. After a brief discussion of light water reactor power plant sites, prevailing practice in site planning, site selection criteria, licensing procedure and used criteria, rules and guidelines, this paper reports on some considerations taken into account by the expert advisers and by the licensing authorities and future site planning. Abstract (German)

Die Anforderungen, die man an die Standorte von Kernkraftwerken aufgrund des Umweltschutzes in Deutschland stellt, machen es moeglich, dass Kernkraftwerke beliebig irgendwo errichtet werden, sofern diese Anforderungen bei der Standortvorbereitung und -ueberwachung und beim Entwurf des geplanten Kraftwerks beruecksichtigt werden. Nach einer kurzen Schilderung von Standorten fuer LWR-Kernkraftwerke, ueblichen Gepflogenheiten bei der Standortplanung, Standortauswahlkriterien, Genehmigungserteilung und verwendeten Kriterien, Regeln und Richtlinien folgen einige Erwaegungen, die von den Gutachtern und den Genehmigungsbehoerden in Betracht gezogen werden, und Bemerkungen ueber die zukuenftige Standortplanung.
