E2 and M1 Transition Probabilities in Odd Mass Hg Nuclei

Description

L- and M-subshell ratios have been measured for the 39.5 keV transition in 193Hg and the 37.1 and 16.2 keV transitions in 195Hg yielding 0.38 ± 0.12 , <0.02 and 0.08 ± 0.03 per cent E2, respectively. The half-lives of the 39.5 keV level in 193Hg and the 53.3 and 37.1 keV levels in 195Hg have been measured by the delayed coincidence method, yielding values of 0.63 ± 0.03, 0.72 ± 0.03 and <0.05 nsec respectively. A systematic compilation of reduced E2 and M1 transition probabilities in odd mass Pt, Hg and Pb nuclei is given and compared to theoretical predictions
