Description

The asymptotic behavior of the population probabilities in the regime of high electron density is calculated. The population probabilities in this case follow a simple formula characterized by a parameter μ/sub j,m/, for which an explicit formula is given. The results are illustrated by means of a numerical example. Finally, a simple algebraic function is proposed which has the correct asymptotic behavior in both the low- and high-electron-density plasmas
