Description
In this paper, transport properties and crystal structures are studied for new conductive copper oxides La2Sr6Cu8O18-β, where β does not change continuously but has only two values of 0.4 and 2.0. The Hall coefficients of both compounds are positive and only weakly temperature dependent. Their thermoelectric powers are also positive and behave as those of usual metals in contrast to the case of high-Tc oxides. They have oxygen deficient perovskite structures with disordered arrangement of La and Sr
