The influence of neutron irradiation on magnetic properties of some superconducting compounds with the structure A-15
Description
Given are the experimental results of the effect of fast neutron irradiation (E > 1 MeV) on magnetic susceptibilit of the Nb3Zn, Nb3Ga, Nby, Gesub(3)Alsub(0.7) superconductive compounds having the A-15 structure, as well as a number of alloys of the Nb-Ga system. The decrease of magnetic susceptibility (down to 27 %) in the 5x1018 neutr/cm2 flux is caused by the break of niobium ''chains'' and in terms of the atomic order language it is connected with the change of the long-ranged macroscopic parameter order. Magnetic susceptibility was measured by the Faradey method at the installation of INP of the Academy of Sciences of the Kaz. SSR. The results obtained show that magnetic susceptibility in the alloys of the Nb-Ga system decreases nonlinearly with the increase of the Ga content
