Description
The problem on accelerating multicharged carbon ions in the I-100 proton accelerator-injector into the U-70 accelerator is studied in connection with the potential creation of the Center of the ion-radiation therapy in the IHEP. The experimental studies on the ion acceleration in the I-100 with Z/A < 0.5 as well as on the laser source of the multicharged carbon ions and ion-optical system for injection of these ions into the I-100 accelerator-injector are carried out. It is shown that the C12+6 and C12+5 ions may accelerate and focus on the second harmonics in the I-100
Abstract (Russian)
В связи с возможным созданием Центра ионной лучевой терапии в ИФВЭ исследуется проблема ускорения многозарядных ионов углерода в линейном ускорителе И-100 - инжекторе протонов в ускоритель У-70. Проведены экспериментальные исследования ускорения в И-100 ионов с Z/A < 0.5, а также лазерного источника многозарядных ионов углерода и ионно-оптической системы для инжекции этих ионов в И-100. Показано, что в И-100 можно ускорять и фокусировать на второй гармонике ионы C12+6 и C12+5Additional details
