This note is a synopsis of a presentation made at the Society for Radiological Protection Meeting which was held in London on 11 October 1988. It considers what features of the UK regulatory framework are open to change, how they could be changed and what amendments should perhaps be contemplated to reflect the revisions in risk estimates.
