Creators

  • 1. Tokyo Univ. (Japan)

Description

The importance of basing chemotherapy on the cell kinetics of brain tumors is discussed. The principles used in this study are; 1) remove as much as possible of the tumor; 2) reduce the number of remaining tumor cells by irradiation; 3) subsequently administer chemotherapeutic agents with 2-log kill effectiveness every 8 weeks as a scheduled program; 4) during this period the defense mechanism of the patient should be promoted, if necessary by administration of BCG, levamisole, PSK etc. BAR therapy, cellular synchronization-radiation therapy, and scheduled chemotherapy are described.
