Beam transport system

By optimizing the shape and positions of magnets, the beam can be transported with high efficiency and minimum observations. The experimental channels and the focussing techniques for the divergent beam with quadrupole magnets of the variable energy cyclotron at Calcutta are described. (A.K.)
