Description
Formation and properties of Hg(1) in the aqueous solutions of Hg(2)com.pounds were studied by pulse radiolysis in the wide pH range. In all pH range investigated the action of electron pulse on deaerated solutions of Hg(2) compounds results in intensive optical absorption in ultraviolet spectrum. In the case of acid medium it is identical with the earlier described one. The band maximum is observed at 260 nm. The spectrum changes in the neutral and alkaline media: the band with maximum at 350-380 nm appears whose relative intensity increases with pH
