Genetic studies
Description
Possible genetic dangers from the use of fossil fuels and uranium- and plutonium-fed nuclear reactors are emphasized. A tissue-culture model system for quantitating gene mutations is described. Studies are being conducted on the relative mutagenicity of high-LET alpha radiation from 238Pu and of low-LET 250 kvp x rays
