Description
The one-loop gluon self-energy is examined at finite temperature in a regulated static temporal gauge (d0A0=0). In the limit that the regulating parameter vanishes, the bare gluon propagator coincides with that of the ordinary timelike axial gauge (A0=0). The results for the (longitudinal) plasma frequency and damping constant agree in this gauge with those obtained in the timelike axial gauge using a (naive) principle value prescription to this order, despite the fact that the ghost contributions do not decouple at the one-loop level.
