Kinetics of neptunium (6) oxidation with ferricyanide ions

Description
A quantitative investigation into the kinetics of oxidation of neptunium (6) by ferricyanide ions in solutions of KOH, NaOH, LiOH is carried out. It has been established that, all things being equal, replacement of K+ ions by Zi+ slows down direct oxidation of Np(6) by Fe(CH)63- ions and considerably speeds up the reduction of Np(8) by Fe(CN)64- ions. The rate of oxidation of Np(7) in KOH changes little in the ionic strength range of 1.5-3 (relative to KNO3), but it depends substantially on the concentration of OH-
