Data needs for fuel handling and waste management aspects of thorium fuel cycles
Description
The cross-section data needs for strategies employing various feed fuels in a thorium-fuelled HTR have been examined from the viewpoint of fuel handling and high-level waste management. The important nuclides and their major production routes have been identified and tentative accuracy requirements are suggested for some key spectrum-averaged cross-sections not covered by the requirements for reactor physics calculations. 8 refs
