Peculiarities of response of radio resistive Guerin's carcinoma in rats to radiotherapy

Description

The study involved 125 rats (130-140 g) with intact and radio resistive (17th generation) strain of Guerin's carcinoma. The course of x-ray therapy consisted of 4 daily fractions of 10 Gy. Changes of mean tumor volume and content of thyobarbituric acid (TBA)-active products of lipid peroxidation as well as superoxide dismutase and catalase activity in the tumors, brain, spleen, liver and blood of the animals were studied
