Operation of the emergency technical advice organization

Description

The operation of the emergency technical advice organization, determined by the Nuclear Safety Comission, is described. The members of the organization are mustered by the NSC when an accident occurs in a nuclear power station and others, and its consequences are likely to affect the surrounding area. The members are then called not only to Tokyo but also to the site of the accident, the former is designated as the headquaters, and the latter as the branch. The purpose of the organization is to make advices contributing to the instructions made by the Government to the plant owner and the local governments concerned, on the basis of the informations provided by governmental offices and site countermeasure headquarters. To have proper operation of the organization, means and preparations are normally maintained. (J.P.N.)
