Production of fragments in interactions of 56Fe nuclei with nuclei of nuclear emulsion, and the fireball model

Description

The nuclear-emulsion method has been used to investigate the fragmentation of iron nuclei, having energy in the range 0.1-1.0 GeV/nucleon in light and heavy nuclei. The cross sections for fragment production are considered as a function of the energy of the incident nucleus and the mass of the target. The experimental results are compared with various modifications of the fireball model
