Exocyclic α, β - unsaturated cyclic carbonyl 1 compounds I-III were condensed with cyanoacetamide in presence of a base to yield the corresponding pyridine-2-ones IV-Vi. The structure of all products was substantiated by chemical and spectral methods. (author). 10 refs., 2 table
